The Mental Roadmap

As many of the folks who talk to me on a semi regular basis will already know, I am going through a relatively extended process of mental health related issues. However that is not the focus of this post, instead I want to take a moment to look beyond that and try and invisage what it is I would like beyond that and where I would like to be.

In typical paradoxical fashion I am a complicated person, yet at the same time quite a simple one. While the inner workings of things may get complex the basic things I want out of life are very simple. I want to be a good father, provide for my family and contribute to the astounding communities that surround both table top and video gaming.

Being a Good Father

My daughter is my world, in my issues right now she is the one constant thing that never fails to lighten up my day.

It may not be humble but I do believe I am a good father, her happiness and well being are almost universally my first considerations when I am making a decision. I want to be in a place where I can continue to do this and provide her with the best chances in life to be who she is and be happy being it.

Providing for my Family

I would think I join most the adult world in this one, the desire to make sure your family has what it needs, and then a little more for the occasional luxuries.

I could try and pad this out with more details and the like but there isn’t really much point. It is a desire as old as humankind and you either understand it or you don’t!

Contribute

I am truly passionate about gaming, I wholeheartedly believe that tabletop gaming if fostered, and spread as far and wide as possible can be as effective a tool for bringing people together and getting them on the same page, as the internet has been for the spreading of knowledge.

My main goals is to develop and expand what I have done in the past. From my streaming of both video games and both running and playing tabletop games, through the writing of new content for various system. I also want to expand and write my own game one day, although realistically I will probably start with releasing a full campaign setting for D&D first.

In all of it I just want to try and provide a fraction of the joy I have had gaming to others.
